Product Recall

All suppliers to Countdown must have a Product Withdrawal / Recall process in place to facilitate the prompt and effective removal of product from sale in the event that there is a fault with a product supplied to Countdown.

We have implemented a new process for submitting a withdrawal or recall to us called PWRM (Product Withdrawal Recall Management system).

As a supplier initiating a product withdrawal or recall, in preparation you will need:

  • I-PRO access
  • Relevant information about the faulty product(s):
    • Description / name of product
    • CASS number (Retailers Reference Number)
    • EAN number
    • TUN number (if available)
    • Relevant date(s) or batch number(s) of affected product
    • Detail of which stores are affected
    • Detail of preferred disposal of affected products (dump, reps to collect, or donate)
